Christmas Stories

There are many stories and legends surrounding the Christmas season. A great many started as Christmas songs that took on a life to become beloved stories and even movies. Our television programming contains any number of these wonderful tales.

Who can forget the classic A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens told and retold in books and movies.

And what of the wonderful "Twas the Night Before Christmas" the poem by Clement Clarke Moore written as a Christmas gift for his children that has become the standard description of Santa and his reindeer on their Christmas Eve ride.

Or Rudolph The Red-nosed Reindeer who came to the rescue with his bright red nose that lit the way through the foggy Christmas night thereby earning his a solid place as the ninth reindeer in the group.

Then there was Frosty the Snowman who came to life and entertained the children as they all laughed and played. Remember The Christmas Spider who spun her web to decorate the Christmas tree for the Christ Child? We still honor her with our tinsel on the tree every year.

There are many more wonderful stories about and around the Christmas Holidays. Here are but a few The Candy Cane Story, The Christmas Tree, Christmas Angels, by P.Z. Mann and The Story of the Nativity where it all began. Take some time in the rush of shopping for presents, decorating and going to parties to read some of these great stories both for yourself and for the children. The two stories that we always read at Christmas time were The Story of The Nativity as the babe was placed in the manger and "Twas The Night Before Christmas" as the stockings were hung. These are memories that remain through your entire life.

All these stories in book form or the movie versions make memorable gifts.
