Debbie's Dolls

These dolls and puppets were made by Deborah Junker.

Virtue Virtue close up

Virtue won a blue ribbon in her class at EDAC 2005. The pattern is by Mary Tressler, Little Red Riding Hood. She is based on a real person that we knew when our husbands were on a ship in Newport Rhode Island.

Her story:
Virtue Hathaway Murray said she was the seventh daughter of a seventh daughter of a seventh daughter from Salem Mass. She was therefore a witch. It was incredible how she would call the Captain of the ship the night before it was to deploy for maneuvers that the ship wouldn't be able to go out for a specific reason ex: Captain Kelly you won't be able to go out tomorrow because #2 boiler will break down." Sure enough # 2 boiler would be broken down! She had been an exotic dancer in Boston when she met her husband. She was quite a character.

Her costume is a dress of blue velvet with a gold sparkly pattern. Her merkin is mink. her chastity belt is rhinestone with a lock. Her necklace is a rhinestone magic key to open the chastity belt.

1st prize

Doll with cloth over face mask made from Anne-Marie Brombal's "Sky Spirit" pattern.
I started this doll at Enchanted Freedom Doll conference in Albuquerque, July "01.
I was so delighted with the way she turned out that I entered her in the
FOCD "Goddess Within" Challenge. She won 1st place. She is my
idea of what I would like to be if I were ever a goddess - poised, glamorous, THIN!
She is a very elegant but winsome goddess.
